PRODUCT REVIEW: John Guest Speedfit pipe fitting range

Hello everyone, today's review is for the JG [John Guest] speedfit system of pipe fittings.

Our friends over at Screwfix Direct can provide the complete range of fittings to tackle any heating or plumbing job.

These pipe fitting do away with having to try and solder copper pipe and copper fitting together saving you time and making the whole job very easy to do.
With a huge range of speedfit fitting they are a must for any DIYer and all the plumbing and heating trades alike.
We have found the best way to purchase is, where possible and the job requires it, to buy using their 'bulk buy' system in packs of 10. Good savings made there.



The John Guest Group, still family owned and run was established in the early 1960’s specialising in precision engineering and tool making. The company has grown to become the world’s largest manufacturer of push in fittings, pipe and other fluid control products for a wide range of applications.  The company recently received its 4th Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, in the Innovation Category, given in recognition of the design and manufacture of an improved range of Speedfit Pipe and Fittings and ‘Superseal’ Pipe Insert.

Having used these fitting for many years I have found them 100% reliable 

I have never had any leaks or blown fitting - ever.

Without doubt the key to using these fitting successfully is:

• always cut the pipe square
• if using the fitting onto copper pipe ensure NO sharp edges
• always use the plastic inserts with the speedfit pipe [never leave them out - you will get problems]
• use ample pipe clips with the plastic pipe - at least every 600mm

 OVERALL VERDICT:    A must for every DIYer and tradesman alike - highly recommended by us.
